Young scientists frequently face problems securing research grants in competition with more established teams. The Epigenome NoE is challenging this convention by funding young research leaders or Newly Established Teams (NETs). 12 NET members were appointed in September 2004. Each NET will obtain €150 000 during their 3-year network affiliation, which accounts for around one third of NoE funds. 11 new NETs were recruited in 2006.
