Ruth gained a PhD in genetics from King’s College London and continued her research at Imperial College. Between experiments she began to write news articles for fun. This apparently innocent pastime led to something deeper. No longer able to fight the urge, she ran away from the laboratory to be a freelance science writer. Now it’s a pen in her hand, not a pipette.
